Historically weddings were conducted by priests, vicars, and reverends, in churches and chapels. If we look back at weddings in Scotland and how they have progressed over the past few centuries, we will see more choice.

Wedding Timeline

1836 registry office weddings were introduced.
2002 registry weddings in registered premises were permitted.
2005 humanist celebrant ceremonies, legally recognised in Scotland – (2012 Ireland, 2018 Northern Ireland. England and Wales still not recognised)

Present day – celebrant led ceremonies in the Scottish Highlands offering bespoke, personal distinctive and flexible ceremonies filled with your desired content. these ceremonies are not restrictive they are tailor made for you.

There will always be a place for the traditional religious ceremonies but in an ever-evolving world people are choosing more and more to celebrate in their own way.
